5-week August live intensive · Starts 4th August

AI Max for Agentic search is here. The end of the line for PPC? No. But your job has changed.

Learn to master AI Max, control it and adjust the guardrails - starting 4 August 2026 with Charlotte, tested alongside your live DSA or regular Search campaigns, so you decide when to hand over before Google decides for you: no new DSA campaigns from January 2027, and auto-migration begins February 2027. Includes bonus repeat access to the final cohort.

The deadline

Agentic search is coming either way. The only question is what does your job look like now

Anyone still on DSA or traditional Search gets handed to AI Max on Google's defaults - its objectives, its guardrails, its interpretation of your site. The window to set those yourself, and to learn what AI Max does with them, is now.

Starts4 Aug 2026

You learn to build and control AI Max in this intensive - while DSA and traditional Search are still live and an in-platform experiment is still possible

Still happeningSeptember 2026

Campaign-level broad match settings and auto-created assets still auto-migrate from this date - this part was NOT deferred

ExtendedFull DSA auto-migration moved to February 2027, but these settings change from September 2026. If you run broad match or auto-created assets you are affected in weeks, whether or not you ever ran DSA.

ThenJanuary 2027

New DSA creation ends - you can no longer build fresh DSA campaigns

DeadlineFebruary 2027

Automatic migration begins - AI Max takes over your campaigns on Google's defaults, not the settings you would have chosen

Auto-migration means AI Max inherits your campaigns on Google's settings, not yours - its URL expansion, its brand interpretation, its idea of a relevant query. Get there first and the brand controls, URL rules and targeting boundaries are the ones you set.

AI Max is where Google's putting its weight now. Keywordless matching, page feeds, broader intent capture, and I'm running a live intensive this August to help you get fluent in it before it becomes the default, not the option.

02Launch-ready5/5Page feed correctly created, both local and non-local page URLs added which shows a good attention to detail and thought process5/5Local and non-local labels used5/5Ready to launch
03Launch-ready5/5Page feed set up nicely and custom label logic explained5/5As above5/5Just the inclusion of search partners and display are suspect
04Launch-ready5/5All looks good on video and generally well explained5/5Page feed with custom labels in place5/5Active with custom labels and negative keywords from Search campaigns
05Launch-ready5/55/5Custom labels added and explained, although only one ad group added with custom labels in mind. Would have liked to have seen these fully uploaded and ready to go5/5Active and ready to launch
06Launch-ready5/5All correct and great reference to negative keywords for DSAs to avoid cannibalisation5/5All correct5/5Ready to serve
07Launch-ready5/5Page feed and labels created. Page Feed added to the campaign5/5Custom labels added to feed based on service areas5/5Bid strategy, location and page feed all correct
08Launch-ready5/5Correctly created5/5Correctly labelled in line with brief (i.e service areas)5/5Ready to launch
09Launch-ready5/5Correctly created and all service areas included.5/5Custom labels are adequate, however, I would recommend including both the service and the location in the labels for greater flexibility if additional service pages are introduced later on. REVISION - amended very well.5/5Technically, the campaign is ready to serve. However, the DSA campaign has all the different areas being targeted within 1 ad group. These should be split out into their own ad groups for easier management & reporting down the line. REVISION - each location now has its own ad group with another DSA ad included.
10Launch-ready5/5Accurately included - service areas grouped by North, South, East Houston etc5/5Custom labels applied based on areas of Houston5/5Ready to launch
11Launch-ready5/5Page feed created and correctly assigned to the DSA campaign5/5Labels well used and correctly assigned5/5Ready and no issues found
12Launch-ready5/5Page feed created and service areas included5/5Labels set up and properly assigned5/5Campaign settings are applied, ready to launch. Also appropriate negatives added to keep campaigns from competing against eachother
13Launch-ready5/5Correct and service areas included5/5One custom label for service area added5/5Ready to serve apart from currency and Target CPA
14Launch-ready5/5Set up perfectly based on service areas being geo-locations as per brief5/5Labels correct and well mapped4.5/5All ready to serve, except for no keyword exclusions so it's likely you'd see cannibalisation with Search campaigns
15Launch-ready5/5Page feed is created and uploaded to the Google Ads platform5/5Correctly assigned, just not a full feed!4.5/5Campaign nearly ready to launch but no experiment for ad copy in place
16Launch-ready5/5Page feed correctly created, and good ad group segmentation with appropriate labels.5/5Custom labels added and uploaded via Google Sheet. All looked good and consistent4/5Technically ready to serve but currently missing remaining ad groups based on other custom labels/locations
17Launch-ready5/5Page feed correctly created and linked to the DSA campaign5/5Labels assigned by location and looks logical4/5Looks good generally and Brand exclusions and label exclusions referenced in the video, but no negative keywords added for this campaign. Scope to exclude terms from other search campaigns to avoid cannibalisation
18Launch-ready5/5Several page feeds have been used, and I like how service areas have been grouped into Central Houston, North Houston, Southwest Houston & West Houston.5/5Labels have been used correctly4/5All 4 page feeds have correctly been associated, but the North & West Houston dynamic targets have been setup with custom labels that do not match the feeds. No underscores are in place so these ad groups won't fire.
19Launch-ready5/5A page feed was correctly setup and service areas have accurately been assigned.5/5Page feed with custom labels is in place4/5The campaign is active with no issues, however, all locations have been set up in one ad group. These should be split up into individual ad groups for better management & relevance.
20Launch-ready5/5Page feed has been created correctly and the service areas have been accurately included.5/5Page feed with custom labels in place4/5Active with custom labels and the account negative KW list has been applied; however, all exact match searches have not been added to avoid cannibalization.
21Launch-ready5/5Feed correctly created and service areas included5/5Labels correctly assigned at ad group level4/5Ready to launch except you'll see cannibalisation between this campaign and your search campaigns
22Launch-ready5/5Correct and all service areas included5/5Set and has been implemented4/5Target CPA and currency needs correcting, as does campaign setting for location, plus ad rotation setting could kick in before you're confident on data from ad variation experiment so be careful here
23Launch-ready5/5Added so understanding is clearly there but many labels missing4/5Labels correctly assigned but only a handful of labels added to page feed5/5No errors
24Launch-ready5/5Correctly created and all service areas included4/5Custom labels are ok, but to future proof I would have suggested adding the service as well as the location. i.e there could be need for other service pages later on5/5Ready to serve but location settings are incorrect as set to show ads for those in, regualrly in and interested in Houston Texas which is too broad. Also no negative keywords for DSA. REVISION - ready to serve now location settings have been changed and negatives added (room for cross campaign negatives)
25Solid4/5Corrected during the video but all good now to pick up relevant page URLs5/5Great logic on the custom labels to include service offering as well as the service areas for better targeting4/5Incorrect currency but everything else looks good
26Solid5/5Page feed correctly created5/5Labels correctly assigned and page feed uploaded2/5Half set up with page feed and custom labels implemented and campaign settings, but ad group is standard not dynamic so it wouldn't work as a DSA
27Solid3/5Page feed implementation wasn't covered off on the Loom video and extra DSA campaign wasn't part of the original brief. Liked the keyword exclusion work3/5One page URL added and a custom label but no segmentation applied. Again wasn't covered off on the Loom video5/5Technically ready to serve
28Solid4/5Page feed has been well set up, although 1 mark lost as the brief asked for page feed to be created based on service areas. This is someone with a sound knowledge3.5/5Labels are assigned in a logical way, but not quite on brief. Liked how the candidate took the initiative in the video to say why ad group level hadn't been possible to set up (a pending page feed) and that ad groups would be based on custom labels3/5Set to US wide as a location so not ready to go live. Also no exclusions to prevent search cannibalisation and the page feed has not been added to the campaign
29Nearly there5/5Page Feed has been setup correctly.2/5Custom labels were not used correctly - all products were labeled Plumbing Service Area without distinction. Service locations are missing, which limits the ability to segment or optimise based on geographic performance.3/5Technically, the campaign is ready to serve. However, the DSA campaign groups all service areas into a single ad group. These should be split into separate ad groups based on their locations for more effective management, clearer reporting, and improved ad relevance over time. Also, as mentioned previously, exact match keywords need to negated.
30Nearly there3/5Page feed is created but not set up according to service areas (these are geo-locations on the client website)4/5Good use of custom labels but could have been better if the page feed had been set up in accordance with the brief3/5Separate campaign set up as a Standard Search ad group rather than dynamic
31Nearly there3/5Clearly knows how to create and add a page feed but service areas not included (rather types of service) and landing page is the same for every custom label which means targeting is catch all3/5Clearly knows how to use labels but not on brief. Service areas relate to areas of Houston where there are dedicated landing pages3/5Set up as ad group rather than campaign so not quite on brief. Also not ready to serve because of the above reasons
32Nearly there3/5Effort has been made to create a page feed and candidate has a clear understanding of page feed set ups, but not quite on brief. We were looking for service areas by geo-location as reflected on the website3/5Again labels assigned and logic is sound, but not quite on brief3/5Apart from not being on brief with the service areas, this campaign is ready to launch
33Nearly there3/5Page feed created and segmented by residential vs commercial. The brief was to segment by service area (i.e location) as broken down on the website though3/5Labels assigned but equals commercial or equals residential. This should have ideally been by service area as above but demonstrates a basic understanding of labels3/5Campaign would run as is but segmentation is lacking. For example you would want separate ad groups for the different service areas for maximum relevancy and targeting. You could have had one DSA campaign, with multiple ad groups based on custom label = service area
34Nearly there2/5Page feed correctly created but only 1 URL for both campaigns and no service area segmentation. Also both DSA ad groups are named DSA which could cause reporting difficulties0/5No labels created or used5/5Ready to serve
35Nearly there2/5Page feed created and added to the correct campaign but feed not built correctly2/5A custom label has been created but with over 20 locations, each with a different URL, LOCATION won't provide any meaningful segmentation2/5Settings are largely ok but see above, and negatives could have been better
36Stalled5/5Correctly created and service areas properly reflected0/5Labels have been used but not assigned as no DSA campaign or ad group visible in the interface0/5No DSA campaign has been built in platform. Instead page feed has been added for the normal search campaigns which won't run as a DSA campaign and DSA ads won't display accordingly
37Stalled3/5Page feed created and service areas included but customisation on the uploaded version of the feed is not accurate2/5Whilst the video shows correct custom labels have been created, these have not been uploaded like this. Instead a catch-all custom label has been used for everything. A more granular approach would have been better for future organisation and reporting0/5No DSA campaign built to take live
38Stalled3/5Page feed was setup correctly, but the service areas have not been included. The candidate covered service offerings instead.1/5Labels were used, but as mentioned above, they were related to the service offerings and not the service areas.0/5The campaign is not set up correctly; it's currently a standard search campaign. Page feed has not been added, and custom labels weren't used either.
39Stalled1/5Page feed created but as a catch all approach rather than segmented by service area1/5Only 1 custom label for the whole of Houston. It would have been better to create a label per geo-region and direct to the appropriate URL via the page feed set up2/5Too broad, no segmentation around service or geo-location. Good to see negatives added for limited cannibalisation from residential and commercial campaigns
40Stalled0/5No page feed has been implemented.0/5No labels are being used.3/5The campaign is active and technically ready to serve. However, it still does not use a page feed for the different service areas; instead 2 campaigns have been created for Residential and Commercial intent.
41Stalled0/5No page feed implemented or covered in video presentation0/5No feed, no labels2/5DSA campaign added but no page feed or negative keywords

What candidates said about the assessment

“A skills test that actually taught me something new”

I really enjoyed being challenged by this test. The DSA components especially were new territory for me, and building the page feed and label structure from scratch taught me something I hadn't done before. On top of that, the feedback was detailed and specific, pointing out real areas to improve rather than just a pass/fail. It made the whole process feel like a fun learning experience, not just an assessment.

“It gave me the confidence to tackle my new role”

The ClickTrain skills test was a great opportunity to test myself in the digital space and gave me the confidence I needed to tackle my new role. The DSA section especially pushed me and was a great opportunity to learn something new.

The five weeks

Five weeks learning to feed the AI

Kicking off 4 August 2026, every week is live - show up and ask questions from your own accounts, in the room. You leave knowing how AI Max triggers ads, how to control it, and how to read its search term reports - so the decision to hand over is yours, made on your own data.

A statistically significant experiment needs an ad account to work in and enough budget to read the results.

Week 1Live

What's actually changing

DSA vs AI Max: what maps to what - dynamic ad targets to final URL expansion, page feeds, keywordless matching - what disappears, and what you gain.

Week 2Live

Prepare to build for AI Max

Audit what you run today, then get the inputs ready for the build: page feed and URL structure, labels, conversion signals and brand rules. Make the structure calls up front - what maps across, what gets rebuilt, and how to avoid cannibalising your existing search.

Week 3Live

Control the 'AI Match'

AI Max decides which queries to match and which URLs to send them to. Take control of it live: brand controls, URL inclusions/exclusions, locations of interest, negatives and asset optimisation - plus search term & asset reporting, so you can see what it matched and steer it.

Week 4Assessment · no session

Practical Skills Test

No live session this week. You sit the Practical Skills Test in a mock account: build an AI Max campaign, set up a page feed with labels, and report on search terms. Around 5+ hours, marked by hand - so you get a score plus written feedback on what to improve, not a pass/fail.

Week 5LiveExtended session

Q&A

An extended closing session: interrogate AI Max's performance, separate signal from noise, and draw your conclusions. Where it beat your existing setup, where it needs tighter control, and the honest call on when to hold DSA and traditional Search until the deadline vs scale AI Max now.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch and we'll come back to you within one business day.

That decisions which used to be yours are now the system's. With DSA you set the targets and Google filled the gaps; with AI Max the system selects the query, picks the landing page through URL expansion, assembles the asset combination and widens the audience - continuously, without asking. You are not configuring a campaign type any more, you are briefing something that acts on your behalf. That changes the job: the leverage moves from the levers you pull to the objective you set, the signals you feed it and the boundaries you draw - and to whether you can audit what it did.
You lose manual control and gain a different kind. You no longer choose each query, but you do choose the page feed it reads, the URLs it may and may not use, the brand rules, the locations, the negatives and the conversion signal it optimises towards. Done well that is a tighter grip than most DSA setups had. Done by default - which is what auto-migration gives you - it is Google's judgement standing in for yours.
Google is retiring Dynamic Search Ads on its own timeline: new DSA creation ends in January 2027, and automatic migration to AI Max begins in February 2027. This intensive runs in August 2026 so you move on your terms before that auto-migration happens.
Two dates matter. From January 2027 you can no longer create new DSA campaigns. From February 2027 Google begins automatically migrating existing DSA campaigns to AI Max - on its defaults, not yours. Running in August 2026 means you migrate and experiment well ahead of that window, on your own terms. The Final Call cohort in January 2027 lines up with the deadline itself, for anyone who leaves it later. One part was not deferred: campaign-level broad match settings and auto-created assets still auto-migrate from September 2026 - weeks away, and it affects you even if you never ran DSA. Dates are Google's and can shift; we teach to the framework so you're ready whenever they land.
No - you can build an AI Max campaign from scratch without any DSA history, and we cover exactly how. If you do run live DSA or traditional Search campaigns, you'll design an experiment that runs alongside them rather than replacing them. What you do need is an ad account to work in and enough budget to run a fair test - an experiment you can't read is not worth running. Charlotte teaches the method to the cohort and answers your questions live; she doesn't work one-to-one inside each attendee's account. The cohort is capped so there is room for real questions in every session.
It's a £99 one-off. If it's not right for you, email us before the first live session and we'll refund you in full.
Sessions run at attendee-friendly hours and times are shown in UK time. If your country isn't listed when you reserve, pick the closest timezone or ask us and we'll confirm your exact local times.
This is a 5-week intensive. The full ClickTrain Academy is the next six months - PPC Max Advanced across Search, Shopping and Performance Max, or any of the other Foundations and Advanced courses across Meta and Google.
Yes. Every Early Bird seat includes bonus repeat access to the Final Call cohort in January 2027, at no extra cost. You get prepared now for £99, then you're welcome back for the Final Call run - which lines up with Google's January 2027 deadline - to migrate again with live support. Booking the Final Call cohort on its own is £299.
No, and anyone promising that isn't being straight with you. AI Max is a testing exercise: you need sufficient budget to run a fair experiment, and results depend on your accounts, your market and how you apply what you learn. We teach the principles and the migration mechanics - how and when you use them is at your own discretion. Nothing here is a guarantee of performance or results.
That's fine - just ask. The test sits in week 4 so you have the full week for it, and most people finish inside that. If work or life gets in the way, message us before the cohort ends and we'll extend your deadline. It is marked by hand either way, so we would rather have your considered work than something rushed to hit a date.
Yes, and it is not a lesser version. You sit our full Practical Skills Test - the same assessment used across the Academy, marked by hand by our independent assessment team. Pass it and you earn your ClickTrain Academy certificate for AI Search, graded on real campaign work rather than attendance or multiple choice.
